The governance of the Trust comprises a Trustee Council and a Trust Board. The Trustee Council provides members for the Trust Board. Up to eight corporates may be elected to the Trustee Council. All political parties in the Parliament are eligible to have representation on the Trustee Council. By tradition, the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition are members of the Trustee Council and are represented on the Trust Board. The Speaker of the House of Representatives holds the position of President.
The Trust Board exercises the legal functions and obligations of the Trust relating to its day-to-day work.

The Trust employs three part-time staff: a Chief Executive, an Executive Assistant who also acts as the Trust’s Office Manager and an Administration Assistant (who assists with major events).
The Chief Executive, whose job it is to ensure appropriate and effective management of the Trust’s operations, recommends appropriate strategic direction for the development of the Trust and contributes to the achievement of the Trust’s aims and objectives.
