Ricardo Menéndez March MP grew up in Tijuana, Mexico and spent a decade working as a film projectionist in Auckland before working in hospitality and migrant advocacy where he took an active role in supporting tiriti justice. 

Since his election in 2020, Ricardo has championed various causes, including passing legislation to improve the rights of people with disability assist dogs and supporting rainbow athletes. He has also worked to protect whistleblowers and secure increases to benefits, as well as advocating for migrants' rights and changes to welfare and dental care policies.

 

Ricardo Menéndez March MP currently serves as a member in the Business, Officers of Parliament and Social Services and Community Select Committees alongside being the Co-Chairperson for the Latin America and Caribbean Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.
